After Performing a Bare Metal Image Restore (CSSB 6.x) For CSSB 6.x Enhanced
During a Bare Metal Image backup, if the presence of Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange Server and SharePoint databases is detected on your machine, CSSB will automatically create individual backup sets for each database with default backup settings. After performing a Bare Metal Image restore, these databases are not automatically restored to your machine. To recover these databases, additional steps will be required.
How to Speed up Your Backup and Restore
The speed of your Internet connection is the primary factor for how fast you can back up or restore your files. Your backup and restore speed will also depend on the speed of your computer, the amount of data selected for backup/restore, and the amount of strain your other programs and services have on your internet connection.
Restore Speed
Recovering small amounts of data (a few files here or there) usually takes only a few seconds or minutes. Restoring all of your data will take longer depending on how much data you have and the speed of your ISP.

No Loss Recovery or Delete Existing Transaction Logs for Microsoft Exchange Restores
There are two new options for restores of Microsoft Exchange databases when restoring to the original location. No Loss Restore will not delete existing transaction logs and once the restore is complete, Exchange will perform a roll-forward recovery if all sequential transaction logs are found. Delete existing transaction logs will delete any transaction logs found in the Log directory of the restored Mailbox Database(s), Public Folder Database(s), and/or Storage Group(s).

Known Issue: Unable to Restore Files With A Slash in the Filename (Mac 1x)
Files that contain a slash '/' in the filename will be renamed within the Carbonite backup so that the slash is replaced with a colon ':'. Removing the slash '/' character from the filename will ensure that you are able to restore the file using the Carbonite software if needed. Files in your backup that contain a slash '/' character can only be restored via Anytime Anywhere Access.
Known Issue: AVG Prevents Carbonite from Displaying Restore Progress
AVG LinkScanner and Online Shield may prevent you from viewing the Carbonite restore progress.
Determining Recovery Completion For CSSB 6.x Enhanced
When Carbonite Safe Server Backup finishes restoring your data, you will receive notification in the user interface indicating that your restore is complete. You can check the progress of your restore at any time through the Dashboard.

While configuring a full restore with the Restore Wizard, Carbonite will give you options to restore the user files of each active user in the backup. If a backed up user does not exist on the new computer, Carbonite can create a new user to restore to. In some cases, you may see the error "Unable to create the [username] account". This article overviews restoring to an alternate location.
The CSSB User Interface Does not Open After a System State Recovery
You may experience problems when you use version 5.0 or later of the product to restore a System State backup taken in version 4.14 or earlier. This issue can be resolved by either replacing the ZWCService.exe or uninstalling and reinstalling Carbonite Safe Server Backup.
Exchange Recovery to a Recovery Group/Database Fail if Replication or DAG is Used
