The Restore Files Tab (Mac 2x)
Summary:
The Restore Files tab is another method to recover data from your backup. The options provided are designed to be complete restore options rather than selective restores. This means that any restore started from this page will include all backed up drives.
If you wish to recover individual drives, or perform selective restores of files and folders, then you would follow the instructions at the bottom of the Restore Files tab. More in depth instructions with screenshots are available within the Restoring Files (Mac 2x) article.
Please note: Restores from the Restore Files tab are destructive restores. This means that if there are already files and folders with the same names in the location you choose to restore to, those files and folders will be overwritten during the restore in favor of what is in the backup.

Solution:
The 2 options for complete restore are:
Download to a folder …
This option allows you to choose a single location where all your backed up data will be restored. Whether you only have one drive backed up or multiple, all drives get restored to the same selected folder. Each drive recovered in this way will have its display name from the Carbonite application as its folder name. If the name is followed by (missing) that will not be included in the folder name.
For Example: If you were restoring 3 drives one that showed as “Data (2) (missing)” another showing as “Portfolio Backup (missing) and the last showing as “Data” under My Drives, the folder names in the selected directory would be “Data, Data (2), and “Portfolio Backup.”
Put my files back where they were
This option will only restore information directly to the same drives that data was backed up on. If you attempt to use this option and you have one or more missing drives, you will be prompted to select a folder to restore the missing drives to. If you opt to cancel instead of recovering the missing drives, the restore will cancel overall.
