To continue backing up and restoring files on macOS 10.15 or greater, Carbonite needs to be updated to the latest version of Carbonite and granted access to Apple's Full Disk Access. For more information on how to complete these steps, please review the applicable article below.
Your backed up files are safe, and it's easy to get them back.
Download some files
If you don't need everything back, there are a couple of ways that you can restore only the files you want at the moment.
- Restoring individual files or folders - Are you at your computer with Carbonite installed? This walks you through how to restore any backed up files or folders using the installed Carbonite software.
- Restoring files through your account - Not at your computer and still need a file? No problem! This walks you through how to log into your account and restore files or folders using the Carbonte web interface.
With Carbonite Safe for Mac, you can perform unlimited restores at no extra cost.
Restore all of your files
With Carbonite you can restore your entire backup to a new or repaired computer by using our Restore Manager. This will guide you step by step through configuring all the different options that go along with restoring all of your files.
All done with your restore?
Once you've finished restoring, most of your restored files will be ready to use right away. However, you may be using software that requires an import process before you can access your restored data again (i.e. Outlook, Quicken, Quickbooks, etc.).
