Known Issue: Restore Progresses Slowly After Exiting Recover Mode

Summary:

After exiting Recover Mode, Carbonite restores files slowly or it appears the restore stopped.

This can be diagnosed by right-clicking the Carbonite icon and seeing that the option Enter Recover Mode is available.

This article applies to:

Carbonite Plans Products Platforms
Basic, Plus, Prime, Core, Power, and Ultimate (Not sure?) Safe and Safe Pro (Not sure?) Windows

Cause:

When Carbonite enters Recover Mode, it stops backing up files so it can focus on restoring files. When you exit Recover Mode and restores files, Carbonite splits its resources between restoring and backing up files making the restore slower or appear stuck.

Solution:

Enter Recover Mode until the restore completes to avoid data loss and for a quicker restore.
