In some cases, you may see the following error:

This article applies to:

Carbonite Plans Products Platforms
Basic, Plus, Prime, Core, Power, and Ultimate (Not sure?) Safe and Safe Pro (Not sure?) Windows

Solution:

If you encounter this error, please either restore the affected user’s files to a different location, or skip that user’s files.

In the Restore Wizard, click Change, followed by either Choose a different folder… or Don’t get these files back.

  • Choose a different folder – This option will restore the files to a folder of your choice on your new computer.
  • Don't get these files back – This option will not restore the data from that Windows user account. Files from this user will be removed from Carbonite after 30 or 60 days of backup on the current computer.
  • If you already created the user manually - You will need to log into the created user to receive it as a restore option.
Note: You can also restore the affected user’s files into the user folder of an active user by clicking the user’s name in the Change menu. Please keep in mind that this will merge the restored user's folders with the user folders of the selected user.

For more information on restoring user data, please refer to Restoring Windows User Accounts With Carbonite.
