Reinstalling Carbonite Safe

Reinstalling updates Carbonite to the latest version of the software. If you reinstall Carbonite on the same computer, your backup will continue from where it left off. You can reinstall Carbonite with the button below.

Reinstall Carbonite

Once Carbonite downloads, click Run on your web browser or double-click the CarboniteSetup file to install Carbonite. Please reference the instructions below if you need further guidance.

  • If you experience a problem when you install Carbonite Safe, please uninstall and reinstall the program to fix the problem.

Reinstalling Carbonite with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer

When you download Carbonite with Internet Explorer, you’ll see a Run or Save box at the bottom of the window. Click Run to open the CarboniteSetup file and start the installation.

Note: If you don’t see this, press CTRL+J on your keyboard and double-click the CarboniteSetup from there.

After running the installer, the Terms of Service will be displayed. Click I agree and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Once reinstalled, Carbonite will be on the latest version and your backup will resume automatically. Alternatively, you can restore all of your files or restore individual files or folders.

Reinstalling Carbonite with Google Chrome

When you download Carbonite with Google Chrome, you’ll see the CarboniteSetup file appear in the bottom left hand corner. Click the CarboniteSetup file.

Note: If you don’t see this, press CTRL+J on your keyboard and double-click the CarboniteSetup from there.

After running the installer, the Terms of Service will be displayed. Click I agree and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

When you download Carbonite with Mozilla Firefox, a pop-up will prompt you to save the file. Click Save File, then click the CarboniteSetup from your downloads folder.
