Updating to the Latest Version of Carbonite Safe (Mac 2x)

You can update your version of Carbonite to the latest product version through the Carbonite update file in this article if Carbonite is already installed on your computer.

If Carbonite is not already installed on your computer, you will need to reinstall Carbonite from your account at https://account.carbonite.com.

Update Carbonite

macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) or higher | For Carbonite Safe Basic, Plus, or Prime plans

After the Carbonite update file downloads, you can use your web browser or Finder to open the Carbonite setup file.

  • For Safari: Click the download icon in the top right of Safari and double-click the Carbonite client file. When prompted, click Open to begin the Carbonite installation.
  • For Google Chrome: Click the Carbonite client file in the bottom left of Google Chrome.
  • For Mozilla Firefox: With Open with selected, click OK.
  • For Finder: Navigate to the download location and double-click the Carbonite client file.

When prompted, click Open to begin the Carbonite installation.

Agree to the Terms of Service and click Continue.

Enter your Mac password and click Add Helper to start the software update.

After the progress bar completes, Carbonite will be updated to the latest version.
