Disabling or Enabling Colored Dots on Files
Carbonite places colored status dots on your files and folders to indicate their backup status. Keeping the colored status dots enabled allows you to easily and quickly determine the status of your backed up files. The colored status dots can be enabled or disabled from within the Carbonite InfoCenter / application.
Configuring Windows Update
Windows Updates are set to install automatically by default on most versions of the Windows operating system. Installing Windows Updates can cause the computer to restart. If the computer restarts during a Carbonite restore, it could significantly increase restore time. Carbonite recommends configuring automatic Windows Updates during long restores to prevent interruptions and reduce the overall restore time.
Enabling and Disabling Backups in the Carbonite Safe Backup Pro Dashboard
When an administrator stops a user's backup through the Dashboard, a Critical Notification will be displayed within the Notifications tab. The user will receive a pop-up from the Carbonite InfoCenter / application that his or her account has been disabled. An administrator can enable the user's backup again through the Dashboard.
Known Issue: Unable to Select OneDrive Files for Backup with Carbonite Safe
You cannot select the original files in the OneDrive locations for backup with Carbonite Safe when OneDrive’s Files On-Demand feature is enabled.
Managing Your Carbonite Administrators and Users
There is no limit to the number of users or administrators that you can add to your Carbonite Safe Pro account, and there are no fees per administrator. You can add/remove users and administrators by signing into your Carbonite account and using the Dashboard.
