The Carbonite Computer Backup (CCB) 6.3 release delivers an entirely new Restore Interface for the Windows Application UI, which allows customers to manage all of their data more easily and confidently. The new UI is more intuitive and easier to navigate than ever.

Functionality and Usability Enhancements:

  • Created a simplified restore path by auto-mapping the user profiles and drives if a match exists between the old and the new computer.
  • Enabled the restore to a desktop folder.
  • Allowed users to create Windows user accounts without a password.
  • Improved the non-admin restore flow with better messaging.
  • Switched from frozen mode to recover mode.
  • Added messaging to address lack of hard disk space during a restore.
  • Simplified the restore progress at the file level.
  • Updated the Search and Restore feature.
  • Created a new customer-centric restore report.
  • Power settings are enabled during a full restore and reverted once restore is complete.
  • Restore percentage is preserved after a computer reboot or connection loss.
