Carbonite Icon Notification Area Meanings

Summary:

The Carbonite IconThe Carbonite logo icon in the notification area by the system clock that opens your InfoCenter. is located in your Windows notification areaThe area next to your system clock that contains the icons of the programs you are running. in the bottom right of your screen and displays information at a glance about your Carbonite backup status.

If the icon is not visible, click the Show hidden icons button ( ^ ) next to the Windows notification area to display the Carbonite icon. In Windows 8 and Windows 10, press the Windows Key + D on your keyboard to display your desktop and Windows notification area.

Carbonite Icon

Your backup is currently up-to-date and Carbonite is waiting for new or changed files to scan for backup. This is normal behavior and does not require any user action.

Carbonite Icon with Ellipsis

Carbonite is in the process of its initial backup.

Carbonite Icon with Red X

Carbonite has been manually disabled by a user. Enable the Carbonite Service to resume backup operations.

Blinking Carbonite Icon with Red X

There is a problem with your backup that requires your attention. Carbonite may need to be reinstalled on the same computer or uninstalled if your Carbonite subscription was moved to another computer. Click the icon to view additional alert messages and instructions.
