Known Issue: Partial Backup Files are Left on Disk After a Failed Bare Metal Image Backup
Summary:
After a failed Bare Metal Image backup, partial backup files are left on disk.
Cause:
Carbonite Safe Server Backup immediately removes partial backup files on disk after a backup fails for most backup types. However, this cleanup process does occur for some time with Bare Metal Image backups. There are two ways to safely remove a partial backup on disk. You can wait for the backup to be removed automatically per its retention policy, or you can delete it from the Dashboard.

Power and Ultimate (Not sure?) | Carbonite Safe Server Backup (Not sure?) | Windows |
Solution:
Wait for the Retention Policy to Remove the Backup Data
All backups are subject to a retention policy. When this policy is met, the backups will be removed.
This includes partial Bare Metal Image backups after a failure. When the backup meets its retention policy, it will be removed automatically within 24 hours.
Delete the Failed Backup from the Backup Details Page
On the Backup Details page, find the failed backup run within the Active Backup Cycles panel. Select it by placing a checkmark next to it and click Delete Backup Run from the All Actions drop down menu.
