The Carbonite Icon

The Carbonite icon can be used to open the Carbonite application and enter Recover Mode while restoring files.

Note: If the icon isn't visible, click the show hidden icons button ( ^ ) next to your Windows notification area, to see the Carbonite icon. In Windows 8, you may need to press the Windows Key + D on your keyboard to view the Desktop and notification area. You can click and drag the Carbonite icon from the hidden icons tray down toward the clock to ensure it stays visible.

The Carbonite icon contains the following options:

• Launch Carbonite... - Opens the Carbonite application to the Status page and displays the status of your backup (A set of copies of your files on our servers).
• Search and Restore - Opens the Carbonite application to the Restore Search window, allowing you to search for files and folders you would like to restore.
• Enter Recover Mode - Stops the backups and prevents files from being removed from the Carbonite servers.
