Summary:

The Carbonite Safe and Carbonite Safe Backup Pro software should not be used to back up the files that make up your database programs such as SQL, Exchange, or Microsoft Access. Files within a database are interconnected within a folder structure and Carbonite Safe can only backup at a file level. This means when it comes to a recovery, Carbonite Safe is able to restore previous versions of files such as a Word document, but is unable to restore a previous version of a folder or the database. Given that Carbonite Safe is not designed to back up such databases, backing up and restoring a database using this software would make this information unusable when it is needed most.
