Locating the Carbonite Backup Drive

The Carbonite Backup Drive is a virtual drive that allows you to view files backed up to our server. You can access the Carbonite Backup Drive from within the File Explorer window.

  • If these instructions do not match what you are seeing within your Carbonite application, please update to the latest version. Instructions for the Windows XP, Vista and Server 2003 version of Carbonite can be found at the appropriate link below:

Accessing the Carbonite Backup Drive through File/Windows Explorer

You can only open the Carbonite Backup Drive through the File Explorer window (alternatively Windows Explorer in older versions of Windows) by selecting This PC (alternatively Computer or My Computer in older versions of Windows). Within this window, double-click the Carbonite Backup Drive icon.

The Carbonite Backup Drive window will be displayed. To view files and folders in your backup, double-click the Backed Up Files icon.
